My friends in the Inland Northwest, For the 2010 Bach Festival, I’ve planned four special concerts, with Bach’s magnificent Mass in B minor as the Festival centerpiece. The Festival will also feature “From the Top” host and world-renowned pianist Christopher O’Riley in his first Spokane recital in a program ranging from Scarlatti and Bach to Beethoven.

The annual chamber music concert will offer Bach’s celebrated Chaconne for Solo Violin (performed by Jason Moody), along with one of Bach’s famed Cello Suites (featuring William Conable), and an early Baroque Concerto for, not one, but five flutes. In addition you’ll hear the very young Beethoven’s Trio for Flute, Bassoon and Piano. An organ recital by Spokane’s John Bodinger will close out the Festival. Please join me, our guest performers and the outstanding Bach Festival musicians for this year’s Northwest Bach Festival.
