CONNOISSEUR CONCERTS TO PRESENT TWO OUTDOOR CONCERTS, MOZART ON A SUMMER'S EVE, TUESDAY, JULY 17, and WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 2007, IN MANITO PARK ON LAWN EAST OF DUNCAN GARDENS

SPOKANE - Connoisseur Concerts will present Mozart On A Summer's Eve, two concerts in July on Tuesday, July 17 at 7:00pm with a repeat performance on Wednesday, July 18 at 7:00pm on the lawn east of Duncan Gardens in Manito Park just off Tekoa Street which runs parallel to Grand Boulevard on the east side of the Park. The theme of the concerts is The Enchanted Garden and includes the movement by that name from Ravel's Mother Goose Suite along with other garden-themed music and, of course, Mozart's music.

Connoisseur Concerts' Wind Ensemble directed by Verne Windham, Music Director of Mozart On A Summer's Eve, will perform with special guest artists Kimberly Monzon, soprano, and Carlos Monzon, baritone.

Tickets to the concerts are $25 per person for table seating at white linen-covered round tables that seat eight. The ticket price includes a gourmet dessert and coffee provided by Luna Restaurant. Some patrons may wish to reserve a table for eight ($200) and arrange for friends and family to join them. Ticket holders are invited to arrive as early as 5:30pm to picnic or have a potluck at their reserved table. These tickets may be purchased online at www.ticketswest.com. The $10 tickets are for the concert only with no food or beverage service. These tickets are limited in number; early purchase is advised.

Rain venue for Mozart On A Summer's Eve is St. John's Cathedral, Grand Blvd. at 12th Avenue. Food service would be in the Great Hall of Jewett House and the concert in the Cathedral.

SPOKANE - The 29th Annual Northwest Bach Festival presented by Connoisseur Concerts will be held in Spokane February 10 - 18, 2007.  Boston-based Gunther Schuller, Pulitzer Prize winner for Music is Artistic Director of the Bach Festival.  Mr. Schuller is a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation's Genius Grant and in 2005 was named a Living Legend by the Library of Congress amid numerous other awards.

On Saturday, February 10 at 7:00pm the 2007 Festival concerts begin at St. Augustine Church, 428 W. 19th Avenue at Bernard Street in Spokane, with a Festival Guitar Night in a program called Bach - When the Universal Becomes Personal.  Leon Atkinson, John Goulart, Paul Grove and Michael Millham will perform an all Bach program which includes an arrangement for four guitars of the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3.  This is a Free Concert, no tickets are required.  Suggested Donation is $10.

The Festival continues on Friday, February 16 at 8:00pm at St. John's Cathedral, 127 E. 12th Avenue at Grand Boulevard with Gunther Schuller conducting the Bach Festival Orchestra and Chorus in Bach's Magnificat and Vivaldi's Dixit Dominus, Rv595.   Featured guest artists are Janet Brown and Kendra Colton, sopranos; Barbara Rearick, mezzo soprano; Rockland Osgood, tenor; and Donald Wilkinson, baritone.  A pre-concert talk by Dr. Jane Ellsworth, Assistant Professor of Musicology at Eastern Washington University, will be at 7:30pm.  General Admission tickets are $25 and Students tickets are $15.

On Saturday, February 17 at 4:00pm with a repeat performance at 7:00pm a Special Festival Event will be held in the Library at the Spokane Athletic Club, 1002 W. Riverside Avenue in Spokane.  Although at a private club, this event is open to the General Public.  The Bachtail Hour - Bach With A Twist will feature the Brent Edstrom Trio; Mark Kroll, harpsichord and Tamara Schupman, soprano.  The music program will be selected J.S. Bach Goldberg Variations in a "chess match" for harpsichord and jazz trio along with songs from J.S. Bach to Kurt Weill.  General Admission tickets are $30 and include hors d'oeuvres and a festive "Bachtini".  Parking will be available at the Spokane Club for $1.00.  Concert attendees, non-members or Club members, may make reservations for dinner at the Spokane Athletic Club either before or after our events by calling 838-8511.  Each concert setting will run approximately two hours.  The Library capacity is only 75; early purchase of tickets is advised.

On Sunday, February 18, at 3:00pm the Festival Finale Concert will feature Lute & Harpsichord with guest artists Olav Chris Henriksen, lute and harpsichordist Mark Kroll, both from Boston, and John Marshall, cello, in the Elizabethan Room at The Davenport Hotel, 10 S. Post Street in Spokane.  The program includes music for lute by Silvius Leopold Weiss,Prelude in c minor and Fantasie in c minor and J.S. Bach's Suite in g minor for lute and harpsichord.  Mr. Kroll will play selected preludes from Books I and II of The Well-Tempered Clavier and the program will conclude with Georg PhilippTelemann's Trio in G major for harpsichord, cello and lute with cellist John Marshall joining the group.  A pre-concert talk by Dr. Jane Ellsworth of EWU will be at 2:30pm.  General Admission tickets are $20 and Student tickets are $15.
